Chael pointed out something about why Diaz has such a good “Chin” and why guys like Jorge & Conor couldn’t finish him. Chael said Nate has insanely good eye sight and strike prediction abilities, and very rarely gets hit with a strike that Nate doesnt see coming, which lets Nate absorb the blow better.. which completely makes sense. When someone gets KOd, it’s usually because they didn’t see it coming. That combo to head kick Jorge did is almost the exact combo Josh Thomson hit Nate with, except this time, Nate saw it coming.
True. Nate also knows when he needs to recover instead of going on offence. He's said it himself. Many guys just go ham when they get hurt. Nate prides himself on not running away from a fight though and that's why his BJJ black belt goes in handy if he's hurt. He can get dropped or "goe down" because it's easier to recover there but he's also a legitimate threat on the ground so nobody can say he's cowering away when it's the opponent who hesitates to follow him there.
