Dana saying Usman is the greatest welterweight of all time..... The disrespect to GSP is crazy. The Greatest Welterweight and The Greatest Of All Time
GSP isn't the greatest of all time, just the greatest WW.
@@H.K.5 he’s got the strongest argument for goat, Jones is up there but his ped usage holds him back
George didnt wanna do a come back fight for him most likely… for a low end pay prolly?
Dana is just trying to attract attention. Don’t take what he says seriously
Dana always hated gsp
They say the newer generations of champions are almost always better, but when you look at St Pierre, especially the takedown defense when he was in his early 20's, these are some all time best of the best mma abilities.
The new generation isn't always better I don't know why people say that. It's only certain fighters from newer generations that are better. Otherwise the lowest ranked WW would beat GSP
Lol no
@@rafayg7376 I'm talking about the champions, gotta edit that.
Ahead of curve so much that they copied his training techniques
Bas Rutten, GSP, Anderson Silva, Prime Fedor would all crush in todays MMA still. Fedor especially was the most scary fighter I've ever seen. I would argue there far more DEPTH in the 2000s MMA era. Tons of great fighters who weren't well known due to no social media back then.
This was the result of George’s infamous *“I’m not impressed by your performance”* ... He was not lying
The nastiest trashtalk he ever dished out, and he openly admited that he regretted saying that as it was disrespectful but he was pushed to sell a rematch.
@@sebastienquirion3257 to be honest, I would also feel something break in me when the nicest fighter of the UFC says that he's not impressed by my performance 😆 I'd probably take it to heart more than any other roast
Greatest welterweight of all time
Naaa Greatest Ufc fighter of a ll time
Usman would trash this dude
@@luffyblackbeard4215 ok bud
@@luffyblackbeard4215 Being a huge Usman fan, I can't completely be sure about it, it's basically a 50-50, Usman has real good one punch power but his striking game is really amateur, tho he is improving in every fight. GSP also really good wrestling even tho he wasn't a wrestler. Not saying he will out wrestle Usman (cause that's not possible) but if GSP keeps on with the precise or creative striking he wins by decision.
@@luffyblackbeard4215 usman got his game from gsp. Gsp is usman father, lets see if usman can go 9 titles defenses and two divisions champion you casual
Ladies and gentlemen prime GSP right here...best mixed martial artist ever walked on earth. Striking, wrestling, fight IQ he had it all
Johnny hendrixs
@@gavriloprincip6892 Johnny Hendricks but how many years later? Regardless of that though Hendricks should have gotten his rematch
@@gavriloprincip6892 Hendrix was a drug cheat please do not compare him to the great GSP
I feel like Jon is better at his peak but GSP is such a great person while Jon is a dirt bag outside of the cage so they won’t admit it
Bang on my friend. The champ champ, the GOAT GOAT. In his prime and in that era, unstoppable.....period.
Hughe's smiling in the first round like "fuck me, there's no way I'm going to win this fight"
Hughes was a sitting duck just getting fired on. No chance.
Passing the torch.
This was single handedly the greatest moment for me as a UFC Fan. I didn't think George could do it after recovering from a pulled hamstring but he pulled it off and it was a dominant performance. P.S GSP I am impressed "by" your performance brother!!
Ha, “pulled hamstring but he *pulled* it off”
Wasn't that fight the thiago alvez fight
@@badastig he was supposed to fight Matt earlier in the year but pulled his hammy... BJ Penn stepped in and Hughes beat Penn.. then they had this fight in November.
@@RickyJSports ah ok
Not the biggest fan of your content but I've rarely seen someone speak more truth
Nostalgic! I was a sophmore in highschool when this fight happened. GSP winning with Goldie and Randy commentating brings me back to a simpler time :)
Those really were simpler times man. World has become too complicated since then. Everything now looks in a hurry.
@@lovenature904 everyone complicates everything now. Gender, crime, race, etc. it’s all gone to shit
@@2kmichaeljordan438 Blame Twitter. It is a trash heap of a website.
And "Stitch" Duran with some of the best cutman skills in the business.
@@2kmichaeljordan438 back then it was just Saddam and Osama. Now they’re hundreds of boogie men. Simpler times dude, even if at the time it didn’t seem it.
As good as Kamaru is, he is a long way from being as dynamic and having the fight IQ of GSP. This man is the true WW GOAT.
George is the greatest.. but Kamaru is easily the best.
Kamaru may not be dynamic but he beats everyone placed before him. There is a reason he has now broken GSP record for most wins in that division. Kamaru is the G.O.A.T, especially if he gets one more win again.
@@REAL_PFO I disagree purely because Kamaru has beaten a lot of nobodies. Almost all of GSP's wins came from #1 contenders. It's easy to beat up on tomato cans, but can you beat the best guy every time they're put in front of you for nearly a decade? That's what makes GSP the best. He beat the best every time, for longer than almost anyone else, in the 2nd most stacked division in the history of the promotion.
@@REAL_PFO If Kamaru was white, you wouldn't care about him or post that comment..
@@jayluis189 Race baiting looks bad on you.
That head kick that led to the ending sequence was vicious. Matt a beast for not just getting starched right there.
1:05-1:15 Might very well be the greatest scramble/take down defense I've ever seen. This dude was straight up OP.
... and Matt Hughes was known for his incredible takedowns ... and had that crazy farm boy strength. Incredible athleticism and sense of balance by GSP.
Matt knew he was fucked after that sequence lol
Yea he straight up went amphibian
Ive never seen anything like this he is straight up the fucking goat, all his dynamics too everything is perfect
@@gootz2480 yea bro he went straight up flying squirrel during that. Super OP
Hughes was the man back then, and GSP made him look like an armature.
You mean armchair?
GSP was definitely not impressed by his performance
GSP is the greatest UFC champion of all time, the cleanest, most skilled, explosive, athletic and the classiest by far.
Vaseline
George is the perfect exemple of what a true champion is. A true lover of the sport and respectful to every single one of is opponent!! The true GOAT
What's even crazier is that this was GSP's 14th ever fight in MMA, to put that into perspective, in Khabib's 14th fight he fought a random guy making his debut on the regional scene at 0-0, whilst Khabib was 13-0
The people from Russia don't always have the opportunities to go into the big leagues that soon. I feel like this comparison is unwarranted. There are plenty of people khabib fought before that with better records yet you pointed out the only debutant.
@@1994mrmysteryman it wasnt the only debutant actually there were a few guys making their debut that he fought, and more guys with 0 wins but many losses, I made this comparison because this was GSP's 14th fight, I actually did the complete opposite of picking and choosing from his record. Also who are these guys with the better records? the 28-22 guy he fought to go 15-0? or the 13-9 guy he fought to go 13-0? Khabib was a beast in the UFC but the truth is, if every fighter had their first 15 fights handed to them as free wins whilst they improved their game, they would all be undefeated. Another example of a 14th fight, Tony Ferguson beating Yves Edwards.
@@the-mma-guru woah woah. What's wrong with 13-9 and 28-22? Do you know of Nate Diaz record? Mark Hunt? Jeremy Stephens? How can you so quickly dismiss fighters because their records are not the most appealing?
@@1994mrmysteryman all those guys you named suck, same with masvidal
@@1994mrmysteryman Because Nate Diaz, Jeremy Stephens and Nate Diaz's records are the way they are due to losing to names like Benson Henderson, Max Holloway, Jose Aldo, Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem, Leon Edwards and many more at the very highest level of MMA. Khabib's opponents with bad records came from losing to part time plumbers. LOL, I got you dude, you just cant concede HAHAHAHAHA
You could tell how much GSP improved compared to when they first fought.
He was piecing him up in the first fight too until he got caught.
@@AndyKaps right. GSP was actually up on the first round but mistakes happened. and Georges learned a lot from that loss.
Yes he improved so much, specially his diet full of steroids and learned a lot from the first fight, grease all his back, pretending to breath with his corner, meanwhile his greasing up between rounds so he can slippery 😊
S t f u
The greatest performance by the greatest fighter of all time. No man on earth would have beat him that night
GSP was the first martial artist we got to see in the ufc
Kamaru is one of the best ever no doubt! But Gsp is forever the Welterweight GOAT🐐
If Kamaru beats Khamzat, Leon and some other elite fighter idk
@@CT-yr8ph about that
@@amadorluis2008 I mean he still can just had to get the rematch
@@CT-yr8phabout that
GSP is the greatest of all time! It's not even disputable... Never wrestled in college but was able to out grapple some of the best wrestlers in his division which is nuts! He could do it all and was able to dictate where the fight was going. Most well rounded in UFC history and a class act 😎
Greatest welterweight of all time!
Perfectly headkick by GSP
Greatest of all time!!!!
GSP is the Bret Hart of MMA. “Best there ever will be.”
In many ways actually, clean cut, white meat babyface, technically the best of his era, a monster of a draw in Canada and the face of the company just before the boom of MMA. He's one of the biggest reasons, UFC was able to survive and thrive in the early to mid 00s (like Bret was to WWE in the early to mid 90s).
Both Canadian as well :)
Prime GSP. Looking to avenge, in perfect shape, totally focused. A masterclass.
This is one of the best UFC fights of all time 👍
Look at his flexibility, his endurance, and just overall versatility. Definitely top 3 fighters to ever step foot in a cage.
Yeah, I agree.
Casuals: you need to trash talk to make it to the top of the UFC, there's no place for nice guys GSP: hold my maple syrup
GSP will always be the best ever
Hughes too busy trying to get his legs to work to notice GSP’s foot coming at him. Those leg kicks set this up beautifully
The Goat
Brilliant , I remember like it was yesterday , greatest champion ever 🤙
Prime GSP would wreck Usman
"Tonight, the future has become the present".
I find it hard to believe a prime usman can beat a prime GSP
You think correctly
He's better than Usman in all aspects of the game!
That's because he can't. GSP's got better striking and BJJ than Usman and his wrestling is second to none.
Melhor de todos os tempos. Exemplo de atleta.
"Tonight the future has become the present." - Goldie GSP was always evolving 1 step ahead of his competition. He'd still do great if he was entering MMA in a more recent time
What a masterful performance by the GOAT. Kept chopping Hughes' legs with low calf kicks while keeping him engaged with 1-2s then switched up in the second round and caught him flush with a left high kick while tricking Hughes into thinking he was going for another calf kick. GSP was truly way ahead of his time
Beautiful work! That's quality my friends!!
Ufc upload gsp vs bisping full match
This is one of the reasons why saying that Khabib was the goat when he retired was so disrespectful. GSP was a beast!!
The first passing of the torch. A dominant welterweight champ of the first generation of fighters where wrestling and ground and pound was king to the GOAT that was champ through multiple new evolution of fighters that tied stand up, bjj, and wrestling together.
Big john was going to stop it, but that horn saved his ass well, at least for the time being 😂
"I'm not impressed with your performance" So he had to have a rematch to impress himself.
GSP favorite fighter hands down!
Legends of the sport. Love GSP and Matt Hughes.
Watching him avenge his losses is super sweet, he just completely erases any doubt that he isn’t superior. It’s also nice watching how he responds and just very overall killing machine on those nights. True legend.
Matt Hughes a legend! Changing of the gaurd 🙌
Fun fact : khabum refused to fight a 40 year old gsp at 170
truth :P
A lot of ppl don't remember how huge this victory was. Matt Hughes was pretty much kamaru Usman, with worse stand-up but insane grappling and ground and pound. Dude seemed invincible in his day and GSP was just on the warpath.
Great to see old fights I’ve heard about but never seen.
The GOAT
And the rest, as they say, is history.
What a guy, George is on of the greatest UFC has seen 👀💯🐐 🐐🙌🙌
Master Class✨
A classy GOAT who innovated. GSP's best weapon was his ability to dictate where the fight goes. Standing or on the ground.
GSP GOAT 🐐
GSP is the greatest. Look at who he fought. Simply the best.
Both my favorite fighters! Awesome to see
Don’t care what anyone says GSP is the greatest of all time in my eyes
we missed the window prime GSP vs. prime T-Wood, 2 WW champs 🐐🙏
Da fuq? Prime GSP trounces prime Woodley.
GSP fought in 2006 how fighters today try to fight or do fight. Just watching GSP 17 years later and fighters today. He is still great technique by 2023 MMA standards.
Disassembling Matt Hughes like that? GOAT!!!
Had to comment just to say God bless you Matt Hughes. (And GSP) After Matt Hughes train accident it breaks my heart to see him the way he is now
@anothaview He has most definitely come a long way. I've shed a few tears for him. Hurt like seeing a brother.
GSP is our legend here in the province of Quebec!! He made us and still make us being proud of being french! What an amazing fighter and such a gentleman!
GSP is my hero 😮
Forever the greatest!! Those elbows!!!!
He is one of if not the best pound for pound UFC fighter ever. Him vs Silva would have been epic.
One of the greatest ufc fights of all time
The Greatest of All Time and it's not even close.
I hope Matt Hughes is doing OK and knows he has plenty of fans worldwide who care and wish him nothing but The Best.
He's been in quite a bit of trouble since his retirement. CTE.
So sharp, so accurate, so dynamic, so technically proficient. A most excellent performance by GSP, very satisfying to see him dethrone Matt Hughes.
It’s a shame we never saw a prime Silva vs Prime GSP
Gsp didn't want part
Both were great fighters 💪
Beautiful!! MMA aforetime were special . Im not comparing with today
GSP had the tools a modern day fighter does and then some. His jab was perfect, his kicks were perfect, his timing on his blast double is maybe the best ever (and for someone who didn’t wrestle 🤯). Beat every man he ever fought. The GOAT.

@NATE DIAZ TESTED POSITIVE ONCE! NEVER FORGET!!! DONT TALK ABOUT HIS MAMMA
Matt smiling cuz he knows he’s getting just outclassed in every aspect of this fight. Dominant performance by the WW GOAT.!
It’s pretty sad that at 33, Matt Hughes was on the end of his career. Conor McGregor is now the same age. Back then though, the average career was only about 6-8 years.
One of my favorite master piece my GSP
What a set of skill on display.
truely made canada proud
Watching the first fight, and then this is better than most movies. Only thing missing is the training montage
Love to see good triumph over evil.
The undisputed GOAT of GOAT's....Way ahead of his era....set the bar for all future mma fighters.
Never forget watching that live

You can hear him say : you're a great fighter you can have a rematch in the last seconds of the video, what a champ
Sad to see Matt not step in the octagon again after the train accident he really would have been champ for sure hope one day he fully recovers 🙏
