    • @@ravagethelegend6217 Its just very risky (and difficult) to do. What's more likely to happen is the Wrestler catching the knee and using it to take the opponent down. Masvidal tried to do it against Usman and Covington, it didn't work.

    • Really good considering that everyone forgets (or doesn't know) how the fight was going up till them. Barboza was being run ragged by Dariush, and he completely reversed it with a perfectly timed flying knee.

    • It’s genuinely astounding how Lightweight always seems to be stacked. Other divisions seem to go through hot and cold seasons, but LW is always a damn minefield. The record for LW title defenses being 4-way tie at just three, that speaks volumes.

    • Ehhh, I feel like if you can be a dominant wrestler you can do very well at lightweight. A lot of strikers in the top 5. Gaethje takedown defence is very overrated, chandler gasses and would rather put on entertaining fights than try and win for some reason, Conor striker, Dustin struggles with grapplers, Dariush good bjj but not a wrestler. Look at how dominant Islam and khabib are at that weight class. Don’t get me wrong special talents but imo they wouldn’t be as dominant if they had a division like the welterweight div where most of the top guys have world class bjj and wrestling. Look at arman tsrukyan, he’s dominating everyone with his wrestling right now

I have no doubt he would have broken the record. Truly the most dominant Lightweight to ever compete in the UFC, its rare you get someone like him who is levels above his peers who are already the best fighters in the world.

  • To appreaciate Barboza ko over Dariush you have to see the all fight, Dariush gameplan was to wrestle with him and Edson figured out the pattern of the takedowns. Dariush pattern was jab, reset, jab+shoot, Barboza timed it perfectly man

  • Man Kevin Lee could’ve been something man imo, i know everyone thought that but it just never seemed to come. He’s such an inconsistent fighter but when he’s at his best he can compete at a high level at lw imo. His Gillespie performance and Barboza performances were statements but he just can’t fight like that every time for some reason. Maybe a weak mentality or something

    • His career decline seems to coincide with the death of his coach. Prior to that, Lee looked like a very promising Lightweight. At his peek, he could hang with the best considering how much trouble he gave a prime Tony Ferguson in the 1st round. If he had better cardio and fight IQ, who knows where his career could have gone.

He wasn’t able to improve in that year and a half off which is an important time for him cuz he was like 28 when it happened. Just such an inconsistent fighter who imo never lived up to his potential. I’m sure he’ll say this to his kids
