@@duncanself5111 a lot of it is still the country vs country thing. Especially with the events of the last couple of years (I think you probably know what I’m talking about). The fans don’t really hate weili, it’s mostly because she’s Chinese and there’s constant turmoil with them now, and she basically represents them on this big stage. For the most part Chinese and all Asians alike are generally pretty respectful as I’ve gotten to know in my 14 years living here in the Bay Area.
Because UFC crowds are often a majority of faux-Patriot meatheads who think Chinese people are our enemies or something. It's a sad commentary on our country and why most civilized nations look down on us. Weili is great and so respectful to her opponents. Not to mention, she fought well. She should be given her props, not booed

While I'm sure Asia is the same way, there hasn't been a whole lot of asian fighters that are championship level in the UFC. On the other hand, ONE championship has bundles and bundles of asian talent that is championship level. Honestly, I think the UFC and ONE could both benefit from a sort of roster trade on a larger scale. Like how the WWE has a draft to see what promotion you go to next. I would enjoy someone from UFC fighting someone from ONE besides just Demetrius Johnson and Eddie Alvarez

Rose won without any sound. More shots landed, more heavy shots, reversed a takedown defended sub attempts, dominated at the end of round 4 the whole of round 5, also she was piecing weili up in the 3rd until she got rocked. Weili put on a great performance but Rose definitely edged it out.

@@silveriver9 I don't smoke Rewatch the second round. Weili actually didn't even knocked rose down, she went off balance. Weili took her down, but did no effective striking. Rose did more effective striking prior to getting taking down. And then eventually takes Weili down herself and land better ground and pound.
I don’t know man. This fight was weird. The game plan approach from both fighters and the horrible scoring from the judges just didn’t add up. Both fighters didn’t perform to the best of their ability. Rose takedowns were good but Weili seemed to be more active trying to get Rose off of her. However, I think those takedowns were the key to victory.

We all know why Zhang lost. It has nothing to do with stats. It is because of nationality. Zhang would've lost either way unless she scores a knockout. Just look at the end of the interview. Zhang was speaking, but they cut it and showed rose. If that is not bias, I don't know what is. One of the judges definitely F Zhang over with the dumb decision.

My definition of beat is based on the scoring. But I don’t think it’s that controversial to say that in a very close fight, where you can barely separate the fighters on score, the champion usually retains their belt. Plenty of other examples of this eg Jones v Reyes. Just reflects the reality that a draw is a very poor outcome for both fighters and for the sport, so often if it’s a draw they’ll defer to the champ.

Judging seems so non statistical and subjective. All you got to do is look at who did more damage, effective striking, and effective grappling each round.
