    • Anderson still fights with 44, accepting fights of any magnitude, UFC wanted to fed him to the wolves with adesanya. GSP retired with 37 being afraid that he will be embarrassed by the oncoming competition, chose a pre retirement Bisping to fight, such a joke. Silva is the GOAT, GSP is very much not.

In the first Chael fight, Anderson went in there with the specific intention to submit Chael because he was talking shit about his jiu jitsu trainer; in the 2nd fight, Anderson knocked him out.

    • @jomiloju ayodele that's ridiculous, those are not the facts my guy. First off, he was Brazil's best player in 2 world cups (1958 and 1970) not just 1. Second, football was harder to play back then - terrible field conditions, heavy ball, heavy boots, no foul cards (Pele was hunted a lot) so you offside/var point is mute. Third, Brazilian league was the best at the time. Brazil had a bunch of superstars in several top teams (which is why the world cup team was so strong) and Pele beat all of them on a regular basis as the best player on the Santos team. He left to the US way pas his prime - his career there is irrelevant.

  • The beatdown he put on Forest Griffin will always be the most legendary showcase in MMA history. Sure Forest was never really elite, but he was solid in his prime and was a tough bastard, and Anderson went in there and absolutely embarrassed him.

    • I was watching UFC when Forest Griffin came into the picture. Don't let the years passed by and competition today, sway your mind. He took that belt beating notable fighters, in their prime, in that era. You don't win belts being anything less. Forest Griffin was elite in that era. Anderson Silva was just ahead of the time is all. With Silva, we were watching the future of mma.

  • Craziest thing about silva is the fact that he could see things nobody else in the ufc is capable of seeing. A debatable goat absolutely but the way he moved, his reflexes, his striking ability, his head movement and his ferocious kicks made him untouchable in his prime.

    • We brazilians do not like trash talking and show business of UFC. It's cultural. So after Chael Sonnen he was really upset with organization. There's no specific rule on ranking. Money talks, specially those who used to spill bs all the time and millions on ppv revenues. C. Sonnen fought twice with him but really didn't deserve it. There were best fighters at that time and after that I think he just went to the cage because he had a contract that obligated him on some more fights
