  • Rockhold could have been a great champion! He had an ideal physique, towering over his opponents whilst also packing an impressive amount of muscle and power, and yet he still didn't suffer with his mobility or gas tank . He was a BJJ ace, winning multiple prestigious tournaments as well as being a great striker who had good hands and a variety of impressive kicks. He had tremendous raw potential and we saw a great amount of it from his tutelage at AKA, unfortunately however his pride and arrogance lead to his downfall, I guess he neglected to read Macbeth in highschool or listen to the story of Adam and Eve as a child.

The old rule said you had to tap three times so he would tap twice hoping the fighter would loosen his grip. Similar tactics still occur today. In boxing, people throw rabbit punches, or punch in the clinch when out of view of the ref. • Weidman's corner had such a good vision of the fight. He told Chris to take Luke's hand out the way and go for the body kicks. Too bad Chris took too long to go with his advices and when he did, messed up with that spinning kick attempt that pretty much cost him the fight. Luke was a beast, beside exposing his body to kicks, he did an amazing job and deserves the victory, but it could have been much more competitive had Weidman listened more to his corner and kept his focus.

  • It looked like Chris had incedible strength-trol (strength/control) in his grappling efforts in round 1. Thought his grappling advancements couldve played a major factor had he ultimately won the fight. it appeared that Luke was looking a little warn down when Weidman took him down in the third, but then Luke had the biggest momentum swoop of the whole fight i'd like to say, just right after he was taken down and got up.

    @ryanjansen8785@ryanjansen8785 Жыл бұрын
    • wouldn't have necesarily expected luke to be as capable of warding off chris's grappling impositions... as he was. luke's high kicks and power in his striking of the two seemed noticeable. and just when chris started to seem like he was adapting and landing some leg kicks of his own in the third, luke established himself well again.
