The standing guillotine is a memorable finish whenever a fighter is able to secure one. To many, the most famous standing guillotine in UFC history is Jon Jones finish of Lyoto Machida for the light heavyweight title at UFC 140.

    • I enjoyed it, too many great guiltones to talk about though, don't know which one to comment about, each one was really fascinating! I think I actually might have learned something when up against the wall, I really liked how a couple of those guys were using that second arm and the cage ( the one without the head) for leverage , by pushing it on the other hand while pressing against the cage, never really thought about it like that.

    • The only one I was disappointed in was the one were the dude didn't try to go to his knees, while the other guy was hanging on him leaning back, that was the only dumb or disappointing bjj technical failure I saw.

  • 2:54 ref did an excellent job of cradling his head to prevent further injury. Well done, we give UFC ref’s crap sometimes but they really are the best

    • People tend to overlook refs until they do a really good or really bad job but their job is so important; it can be the difference between a controversial premature stoppage and a career-ending late stoppage. Their split second decision-making is sometimes the most important element of a fight, even moreso than any particular strike or maneuver. Their discretion when it comes to point deductions and DQs when it comes to eyepokes, illegal strikes etc. isn't always appreciated as much as it probably ought to be- imagine the pressure of wondering if you made the right call when milliseconds make all the difference in multimillion dollar fights

Didn’t finish the choke because I probably didnt have my arm across all the way but I did have a cable grip, I feel like I could’ve done a better job of straightening out my back more to while he was still standing he dropped to my closed guard after 4 secs

    • Also I have a hard time learning to crank a choke with all my strength when I need to I just started bjj recently this month and I feel like I always go from like 30% power to 60% 70%. Should I ever crank a choke 100% in rolling because it feels like some of the upper belts or more athletic white belts are always doing neck cranks and just whipping there chokes right off the bat on me but then some of my other partners like to just kind of like flow and go nice and easy and focus on technique
