  • Man this looks like it was an amazing fight. Maybe they should have uploaded it to the full. It looks like a great example of how grappling can be exciting cause it doesn't look like much striking was going on. All those moments that felt like the end was drawing near. Getting Rhonda's back. Trying to get a leg lock. Only for Rhonda to defend and escape to get dominant position and synch in the armbar.

    • This is why judo will always be my favorite grappling martial art. Jiu jitsu and Greco-Roman will always be very effective but judo has those amazing tosses and slams. Both my kids were judokas when rousey came into prominence, so it was natural that we became fans of judo in the ufc. So we became big time rousey fans as a result.

    • @@aplias20 yep exactly right! Ronda tried to box her but if she would've used her judo,jiu-jitsu she would've broke Holly's arm like the rest,cause meisha choked Holly out the very next fight & Ronda beat meisha twice so yeah that should tell people something right there! Plus even Amanda when on the ground Julianna Pena easily choked her out so if Ronda would've took her down oh hell she could've done whatever she wanted with her! Ronda is the best ever period!!

    • @@williamwallace4358 No, Ronda was trying to utilize her Judo from the get-go but her clinch-attempts got thrown off each time. Which is why she looked like a deer in the headlights in the stand-up, she was facing an opponent who could neutralize her clinch-game for the first time. What happened is that Ronda simply didn't evolve her style, it had nothing to do with her trying to box Holly or Amanda, both fights she was trying to clinch-up and Judo throw but it failed every time.

You actually think that Hollly or Amanda has better judo than Ronda lol that be like Ronda would out kick box Holly lol trust me man if she wanted to really throw them she could've! She wanted to win by ko cause she got it into her thoughts she was a great boxer.

    • @@madgavin7568 ps.btw I'm a very high level black belt Judoka myself, & bjj Gracie jiu-jitsu black belt,& highly decorated freestyle, Greco-Roman wrestler so i know by foot placement,hip placement, etc when I see someone really going for a throw,etc if there actually going for it or not & Ronda was not really doing that with Holly,& in nunes fight that was straight boxing match she never even attempted nothing so all in all trust me I know what I'm talking about sir. BTW I respect your opinion & I'm sure you know the sport really well but like I say there's a true science to what I'm saying & levels to things! Holly knows nothing about grappling in general other than training a few drills,Amanda is actually a jiu-jitsu black belt,and brown belt in Judo so she would offer some good grappling on the mat on paper anyway but as you seen on the mat Holly knows nothing when meisha choked her out,& Pena easily tapped Amanda with the choke so no their nowhere near Ronda in grappling, she's very high level Judoka, & she trained personally with the gracies for years & is certified under them as a Legit bjj Gracie jiu-jitsu black belt,so again there's science & levels to it & she's light years past them in grappling so I hope I have helped you understand what I'm saying & helped you a little bit with understanding the science of grappling! Thank you sir.

    • I can answer that sir! Ita a big yes she would still be champ cause Holly is not that good it's just Ronda chose to box her instead of using her great Judo, jiu-jitsu! Meisha choked Holly out & Ronda beat meisha twice,Ronda beat cat zingano in 14 seconds & cat beat the hell outr Amanda plus as Julianna Pena showed on ground she easily choked Amanda out so yes Ronda could have beaten them both easily if she would've just not boxed them & taken them down.

    • Obviously this is true, grappling is the dominant skillset in mma for a reason. She thought she could sign autographs, do movies, and just stand and bang. The sun burned her wings and it was a harsh fall. Cautionary tale for all on the path of the champion.

      @WFshorts@WFshorts2 жыл бұрын
    • One trick ponies don't last. Ronda lost to two strikers who trained in takedown defenses, with Nunes thoroughly trained in BJJ as well. Both Holms and Nunes defended her takedown attempts very well while going all Bruce Lee on her. People are delusional thinking Ronda was trying to become a boxer. She wasn't, but she knew the days of her walking in, clinching, and taking down tomato cans were coming to an end. If Ronda had trained in either boxing or karate much earlier in her career, she might had fared better against world class strikers like Holms and Nunes.

  • I didn't watch the ascension of Rhonda's career so idk about the women she beat. A lot of people say she settle standard but by looking at her losses you'd think she was close to an amateur. Then for her to leave after a couple of losses really made things worse.

    • This is true but the reason she lost to Holly & Amanda is because she chose to box with them & their superior strikers but if she would've used her judo,jiu-jitsu & taken them down she would've easily beaten them just like meisha choked Holly out,and juliana pena choked Amanda out!

  • The original fight was supposed to be Ronda versus Cyborg, but Cyborg made excuses for not making weight and demanded she be let out of her contract so she could fight in Invicta. Cyborg was coming off a year long steroid suspension and the UFC started seriously testing fighters for drug use. After she left the UFC she promptly put on 15 lbs of lean muscle and started beating up 135ers again.
