The moment @15:00 when Joanna told Gadelha to get up, walked to the center of the cage & the crowd went crazy is one of the swaggiest moments in title fight history. Joanna doesn't get nearly enough credit for being one of the best strikers PERIOD to ever step into the Octagon.

Not many fighters look better in rounds 3, 4, and 5. JJ will always be one of my all time favorites.
At the 14:58 mark, CLAUDIA G wants to stay on her back and JOANNA J walks off motioning for her to get up and fight. One of the best GANGSTA MOVES EVER. JJ at this phase of her career was scary great.
She made few mistakes early which she should 100%avoid since gadelha is the most dangerous there. Buts shes the goat of SW

Joanna lost the first two rounds and dominated the last three rounds. You could see Claudia was just hanging on, she was gassed and Joanna was definitely a better conditioned fighter and beat Claudia up. Good objective scoring by the judges.
Claudia's gas tank has always been her Achilles heel. She was a difficult fight for any Strawweight in the first two rounds, but after that she would fade. Claudia hasn't looked anything like her old self since the Jessica Andrade fight.
I could be wrong but I believe this fight solidified Joanna as an all time great female fighter

Ah, one of my favorite beat downs. Joanna's cardio is legendary. This reminds me of Kelvin Gastelum vs. Tim Kennedy -- how the aggressive wrestler blew their cardio against the striker with much better cardio, only to get pieced up while completely out of gas.
She still won 3 out of 5 rounds and dropped her twice... this was a robbery

The first 3 rounds were UNDOUBTEDLY Gadelha. Even on the feet when the champ was in her element. Every time, she got a clean strike, and it looked like she might start gaining some momentum with the hands. She'd eat heavy counters, get elbowed right back when she elbowed. On top of Takedowns and control in the clinch and ground she soundly lost 3 rounds. Without a KO or TKO, that's best 3 out of 5 even if she wins the last two by a lot. First time watching this fight, but what HAPPENED with the judging here? lol.
I'm assuming the UFC prefers a majority striker as Champs. More exciting style over BJJ heavy Champs. You can hear the announcers mainly highlighting whatever the Champ was doing even as she was soundly losing early rounds lol.

I think she took round 3 as well. Dropped her once, a few take downs and many strikes.. i need to see the stats on round 3 for this. Im surprised I havent seen anyone else mention this yet. My guess is that that last 2 rounds was a clear shut out for the champ. Still a valid point though

Joanna's boxing in the late rounds was really good. Both fighters showed a tonne of heart, great fight.
I think the commentators made this fight seem a lot closer then it was. Joanna was never in any real danger, and was able to control the pace the whole fight.

I really wish a documentary was made covering Joanna's life...She seems very intelligent. And I think the label of being a " bully ," is such bullshit. She is a skilled fighter. She doesn't need to "bully" anyone. Everybody knows that. Her reputation of having lethal combination punches etc...and her lightning speed punches and kicks ,strikes enough fear in her opponents...that she doesn't bully anyone..She can't help it if her opponents are scared of her..
She is definitely misunderstood by most people. Her and I were dating for almost 3 years and she was a total sweetheart even though we separated in the end it was mutual and all good.

Joanna made two errors, taking the first Rose fight when she should have called it off. Nunes did that with the Val title fight, called it off after the weigh in. Her second error was taking the flyweight title fight on very short notice. Nunes demanded a six month camp to fight Cyborg.
