    • Took me 15 min to translate it, but here it is, the translation of what Charles said exactly "Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You've said once that I deserved this opportunity. And today I came here, to show that what you've said is true. I can be and I am the best of this divison. Hey Dana, believe me, I am not an average joe. You gave me a guy with 20-days-notice which was Tonny and I've done what you thought no one would ever be capable of. You broght the monster from Bellator. And I came here and knocked him out. I said I'd knocked him out. I only guessed the round wrongly. I started here 11 years ago. I said I was a kid among lions back then. And today I'm proving you and everyone that I am a lion among lions. Michael, I respect you a lot, brother. You're a big champion. But today is my day, once again. Thanks Jesus. To You all the honor and glory. Favela one more time we've won! You can cry, but cry with happiness. Because it (the belt) is with us today. Look, we have a junction of teams, Diego Lima and Macaco Gold Team. It might rain stones, but when the stones get back, you will all be taken down. Look, Michael once said that I usually fail when I have some pressure on. He saw what've happened today, he hit, hit, hit but I bounced back. It was written. Today was my day to shine. Jesus, once again. Dauther, you've asked me this. Daddy is bringing it home. Thank you Houston. Look, I'm Brazilian but this belt belongs to all of us. I said I a was kid among lions. I am a guy from the favela who've won in life. Never give up on your dreams. If you have faith, i'll happen. Thank you." ps: For more Oliveira's translation, check out the channel "Braziliano MMA"

  • The translator is horrible and didn’t say many things Charles told him. His last message was: When I entered UFC, I was just a boy between lions and now I’m standing as THE lion between the lions. I’m Brazilian but this belt is for all of us, I grew up in the favelas/slums and came from nothing and here I am today to tell that you should believe your dreams, have faith and it will happen.

Thing is I've been watching Charles for years and he already has those attributes but he folds under pressure just like Cowboy. You can't be a champion if you quit when shit doesn't go your way. Only then he managed to fix this issue and is recently recovering through lost rounds/moments and manages to win through bad moments that can cost him the fight. Hence the 9 fight win streak he currently holds. Any other fighter or mixed martial artist will say the same and that is to never underestimate the mental side of fighting, hell even in anything that involves competition/sports.

  • The first time I cried while watching an MMA fight. It was so emotional. I remember saying to myself Charles show them what you got, even when he got knockdown i said come on prove them wrong. And when he won it was also telling me that I can achieve my dreams if I really want it.
