The fact that Anderson is able to compete with someone like Izzy, while in his mid 40’s after such a long career and not get completely embarrassed shows how special he is. Izzy hit Silva with some good shots too, proving he still has a chin. Dodged a kick from Izzy that would’ve taken his head off and still had Izzy respecting him when he went forward. The leg injury in his last fight was alarming, but it’s still amazing that he was able to perform this late in his career.

It's so easy to tell that Silva grew up fighting a lot; his fighting style is so street-like. It's like bringing a Street soccer player from Brazil to play in the big leagues. e.g. (Ronaldinho, Neymar). These two both grew up playing street. That's why they're really good at creative dribbling and juggling. In the same sense, Anderson Silva is a very creative fighter with a refined fight IQ. Shout out to the people of Brazil.

He’s definitely creative and playful in his fights, sure. But I don’t know if I’d say Silva has a “street fighting” style. The guy is an unbelievably technical and precise striker. Probably the most precise MMA striker of all time. His timing, footwork, defense and precision are all second to none, he’s been formally trained and has mastered multiple striking arts, and is a black belt in BJJ. I’ve never seen a “street fighter” with anywhere near that level of technical precision, nor have I ever seen anyone fight the way he does in a street fight.

Basically he grew up in Curitiba and he fought uncountable times in the streets, there were people from others gyms that when they saw each other on the streets... It was on sight, everytime. Thats how he started it
As someone said, it is easy to get carried away with people in the moment when they rip the world to shreds but almost a decade in retrospect, Prime Anderson was something else. He could do things people around him just could not do. He took the sport to a different level. A legend like no other and when things come to a standstill, for me the greatest, ever. @Emerson Amaya The Leites and Maia fights were lackluster because they had nothing for Silva and you felt like Silva coasted and probably could’ve finished them if he went for it. I rewatched the Cote fight the other night and it wasn’t half as bad as I remembered or as the narratives suggest. So 2 “bad” performances (in which he was still dominant) in a 16 fight ufc run full of record breaking and jaw dropping finishes. It shows his greatness when you have to point out 2 fights that he dominated to criticize him.
